Sand Martins Golf Club Dress Regulations

Sand Martins seeks to promote a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which members and guests can enjoy our course and clubhouse facilities to the full. A high standard of casual dress is required at all times and to avoid any embarrassment we respectfully ask members and guests visiting the Club to adhere to the following dress regulations and rules.

ON THE COURSE

We require a high standard of smart casual clothing, which must be tailored and appropriate for golf.

GENTLEMEN

• Golf shoes must be worn, trainers are not permitted (children under the age of 12 are exempt).
• Collarless and / or sleeveless shirts are not permitted.
• Any type of football shirt, tracksuit, jogging suit or gym wear is not permitted.
• Denim jeans are not permitted.
• Shorts must be tailored and worn with suitable long, ankle length or low cut socks.
• Shirts must be tucked into trousers or shorts.

LADIES

• In all cases, the same as for the gentlemen with the following exceptions
• Ladies may wear collarless and/or sleeveless shirts. If the shirt does not have a collar it must have sleeves
• Stretched leggings and bikini-type tops are not permitted.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE BAR, RESTAURANT AND PATIO AREA

• We ask for smart clean casual dress, and that footwear be worn at all times
• Trainers are not permitted. (children under the age of 12 are exempt)
• Denim jeans are not permitted. 
• Collarless and / or sleeveless shirts are not permitted.
• No golf shoes of any kind, spiked or dimpled may be worn in the bar.
• No hats or caps to be worn in the bar.
• Shirts may be worn outside your trousers in the clubhouse and on the patio.
• Sandals / loafers may be worn without socks during the summer period (April – Sept). Beach flip-flops are not permitted.

RELAXED DRESS CODE (ONLY ALLOWED AT SPECIFIED SOCIAL EVENTS)

Our relaxed dress code allows the wearing of smart jeans, which must be worn with shoes (trainers are not permitted). The jeans must not have tears or be frayed and must be clean. The ‘relaxed’ dress code will apply only at certain members events held through the year and will be advertised clearly on all literature and marketing for that specific event. Should you be uncertain of the dress code for an event you are attending please telephone the club for advice.     

SMOKING

Sand Martins operates a non smoking policy throughout the whole clubhouse. Smoking is permitted outside the clubhouse and on the patio area.

MOBILE PHONES

The use of mobile phones (including ‘bluetooth’ apparatus) is not allowed on the course, driving range or in the clubhouse. We ask that your phone is on ‘silent’ mode at all times when on club premises. Phones may be used discreetly on the patio, car park or on the public footpath adjacent to the clubhouse.

Please note that staff are authorised to approach members and visitors to enforce the above should these dress regulations and rules are not being adhered to.
