An Introduction to the Club

Sand Martins opened in 1993, realising the vision of the late Edward Fox to create a club that was both modern in its outlook and traditional in its respect for the great game of golf.

I joined Sand Martins as the head professional in 1994 and ten years later, I was honoured to have the opportunity to build on Edward’s strong foundations when I acquired the majority shareholding. It was testament to the spirit of the club that many members wanted to participate in this process.

With the support of our shareholders and our members, we have carried out a programme of improvement over nearly 20 years, continuing the evolution of this unique course which combines the challenges and pleasures of both parkland and links golf.

As a nationally recognised coach, player development is at the core of my philosophy for Sand Martins. With a team of leading PGA Professionals, we are committed to helping golfers of all ages and abilities improve their game and enjoyment through tuition and competition.

We also value the social side of golf and have a warm, relaxed and inclusive atmosphere at the club – not to mention a full social calendar for members and guests.

I am proud to be the owner of Sand Martins and am committed to maintaining the high standards we have set at the club for many years to come.
