“It’s an unusual treat to find a course with such strikingly different nines”
Our course
Opened in 1993, the course has been cleverly designed with two distinct and contrasting nine holes. Laid out in two loops, each finishing in front of the clubhouse, it offers the golfer the opportunity of a ‘quick’ nine holes if time is short.
Conveniently situated just off the M4 (Jct 10) and the M3 (Jct 3); 29 miles from Heathrow airport and 39 miles from Central London – view our contact page for a map.
The outward nine, set in parkland with lakes, water hazards and dog-leg holes is a perfect example of risk and reward golf, offering a challenge to golfers of all levels.
The back nine is truly unique among inland golf courses, with deep revetted bunkers and hazards lurking on every hole offering a great test of golf; where a par on the 13th will feel like a birdie and where Deception, the 15th hole with a ravine across the fairway, really does live up to its name!
“A true ‘links style’ feel – more associated with St Andrews than suburban commuter belt Berkshire” – Andrew Reynolds PGA Professional Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club.
Despite the variety in style between the two nines, one thing remains constant – the quality of the playing surfaces. Fully automated watering system means that year round the fairways, tees and greens are maintained to the highest standard.
The course is continually being upgraded and improved by our owners, whose enthusiasm and commitment to the development of Sand Martins is clearly evident.
